This porphyrin can for the simultaneous analysis of metals like Cu or Cd by HPLC. It is also possible to determine some heavy metals via UV / VIS spectroscopy with this ligand. Also in photodynamic tumor therapy (PDT) and tumor diagnosis, it finds its use. Furthermore, use in sensor technology (TNT detection) is possible.
